The event opened with the “She Leads” congress, held at the Reale Arena Stadium. More than 150 people committed to women’s leadership in sport attended. This congress not only marked the start of the Tximist Cup, but also highlighted the Tximist Foundation’s commitment to growing women’s sport worldwide. In addition, it created a space where knowledge was shared, ideas were exchanged, and visibility was given to inspiring female role models. As a result, the doors opened to pioneers who continue to leave a lasting mark.
The impact of this edition was impressive, reaching more than 10,000 people directly. Moreover, online engagement exceeded expectations. The tournament generated over 15,000 website visits and live match views, allowing fans from around the world to follow the competition.
In the U14 category, Real Sociedad became champions after a penalty shoot-out against FC Barcelona, who finished as runners-up. In the U17 category, Olympique Lyon claimed the title, also on penalties, with Wolfsburg taking second place. In the Legends category, the AFE team took first place, followed by the Real Sociedad veterans. Furthermore, the “Tximist Cup Values” award was presented to RB Leipzig in recognition of their commitment to fair play on and off the pitch.
A few days before the eighth edition began, the Tximist Foundation received the prestigious ODS Award, reinforcing its role in promoting women’s sport. In addition, in October 2023, the Tximist Cup was recognised as an “Event of Public Interest” by the Consejo Superior de Deportes. As a result, the tournament reaffirmed its position as a leading event in women’s football.
