In a significant gesture towards global commitment to equity in sports, Aintzane Encinas, a prominent leader and equality advocate, traveled as an ambassador to Cameroon during the week of January 18 to 24. Her mission was to visit the socio-sporting project "La League d'Égalité" in Yaoundé, Cameroon, an initiative actively supported by the LALIGA FOUNDATION since 2022.
The “La League d’Égalité” project aims to provide sports and social opportunities for 350 female players aged 9 to 17, as well as 45 coaches, allowing them to participate in a women’s football league. Aintzane Encinas, in her capacity as President of the TXIMIST FOUNDATION and Trustee of the LALIGA FOUNDATION, assumed the role of ambassador to closely understand the positive impact of this project on the local community.
The visit included various scheduled activities, including the project presentation event, visits to teams from communities participating in the competition, activations with some of the participating teams, as well as participation in the closing ceremony. This on-site immersion allowed Encinas to experience firsthand the scope and importance of this project, which aims to promote equality and empower young women through football.
This initiative reflects Aintzane Encinas’s and the foundations she leads’ ongoing commitment to sustainable development and the promotion of equality in the sports arena. The visit to “La Ligue d’Égalité” in Cameroon is a testament to the global vision of these foundations to foster positive change and make an impact in communities around the world.
