Tximist promotes equality in Senegal through football

A project to create opportunities in Kelle

Tximist Foundation has carried out a development cooperation project in Kelle (Senegal). Its main goal has been to promote equal opportunities for girls and women through football.

The initiative was implemented in collaboration with the local association Booloo Senegal. This partnership ensured that the project was adapted to the local context and needs.

Training women coaches and engaging girls

The project trained more than 80 women as football coaches. Participants gained technical and methodological knowledge, as well as leadership and teamwork skills.

In addition, more than 100 girls took part in training sessions. For many of them, this was their first experience with sport. These activities created a safe space for learning and personal development.

First women’s team and local tournament

One of the main achievements has been the creation of the first women’s football team in Kelle. This represents a significant step forward for gender equality in sports.

A local tournament was also organized to encourage participation and community engagement. The award ceremony was attended by the mayor and the headmistress of the Lycee of Kelle, showing strong institutional support.

Equipment and awareness

Tximist Foundation provided sports equipment to ensure the continuity of the activities. This support allows local coaches to continue training the girls.

The project also included the production of a documentary. It highlights the reality of girls and women in Kelle and raises awareness at a broader level.

A shared community commitment

The community of Kelle has shown strong engagement throughout the project. Families, participants and local stakeholders have actively contributed.

This initiative reflects Tximist Foundation’s commitment to social transformation through sport. The project will continue through local leadership, empowering women to become role models for future generations
