Tximist Foundation confirms the return of VfL Wolfsburg to the 10th edition of the Tximist Cup, a very special edition that celebrates the tenth anniversary of the tournament. The German club will once again compete in the U17 category, the same category in which they finished runners-up after a dramatic penalty shoot-out final against Olympique de Lyon.
Wolfsburg arrive with a clear goal: to make amends and fight for the Golden Thunder Trophy, one of the most iconic symbols of the tournament. Their return strengthens an edition that will bring together some of the best clubs in international women’s football.
VfL Wolfsburg is one of the leading clubs in European women’s football. The club has won seven Bundesliga titles, five German Cups, and has reached two UEFA Women’s Champions League finals. Their U17 team is also the current Bundesliga champion, underlining the strength of their youth academy.
Known as The She-Wolves, Wolfsburg teams stand out for their attacking style and competitive mentality. The club has developed world-class players such as Alexandra Popp, Lena Oberdorf and Pernille Harder, reflecting its strong commitment to player development.
Like all teams invited to the Tximist Cup, Wolfsburg’s participation recognises its commitment to the growth and promotion of women’s football. Their presence adds prestige and guarantees top-level competition.
With their return to the Tximist Cup U17, VfL Wolfsburg becomes one of the key teams of this anniversary edition, which promises excitement, talent and elite football.
