Skip The Barriers for equality

Fundación Tximist, Liga F and WFS unite for equality

At the World Football Summit Madrid 2025, Fundación Tximist, in collaboration with Liga F and WFS, presented the campaign #SkipTheBarriers —an initiative designed to challenge stereotypes and discrimination in football.

A symbolic campaign to overcome prejudice

The campaign’s main action features training hurdles printed with real discriminatory phrases such as “Football is not for girls” or “Women can’t play football”.
Each leap over these barriers represents a victory against prejudice and a step towards a fairer and more inclusive sport.

Aintzane Encinas: “We want football to be the queen sport”

Aintzane Encinas, former player and president of Fundación Tximist, explained that the project was born from real experiences:

“These are phrases we’ve all heard. #SkipTheBarriers invites every girl to overcome those voices that limit her and to chase her dreams.”

Encinas also highlighted the foundation’s global reach through initiatives such as The Equality Ball, which provides coaching resources and equipment worldwide.

A joint effort for equality

Beatriz Álvarez Mesa, president of Liga F, emphasized that the campaign helps to recognize the struggle and resilience of women who paved the way in football.
Meanwhile, Marian Otamendi, CEO of WFS, stressed the importance of collaboration to ensure women have equal opportunities in sport.

A call to action

Fundación Tximist encourages clubs, schools, and fans to take part in #SkipTheBarriers by organizing activities and sharing their own stories of overcoming bias.

“Change begins when we decide to skip our own barriers,” concluded Encinas.
