Encinas recalled how the foundation has helped prevent many girls from leaving the sport at an early age. She explained that she could have been part of the 70% of girls who quit football at age 16 without the support she received. As a result, the foundation aims to ensure that no young player feels alone on her path.
Since its creation, the Tximist Foundation has supported more than 10,000 girls worldwide. The work has reached countries ranging from Brazil to Japan. In addition, Encinas noted that the greatest reward is seeing the smiles of these girls as they continue playing the sport they love.
The foundation has received several awards for its work on equality and sustainable development. These recognitions validate the effort behind each project.
