Tximist Foundation helps highlight women in sport at a key event
The Tximist Foundation took part in the event held by the Gipuzkoa Women’s Football Network at Anoeta Stadium. The goal of the day was simple: to make women in sport more visible. In addition, the event encouraged open dialogue about equality.
The meeting brought together athletes, coaches, referees and other professionals. As a result, the group was able to share ideas and reflect on the progress made so far.
Stories that inspire
Garbiñe Etxeberria, head of women’s football at Real Sociedad, opened the session with a welcome. After that, former player and coach Aintzane Encinas introduced the first panel.
The speakers were Begoña Larzabal (Real Sociedad), Arrate Fernández (SD Eibar), Alicia Figueroa (Askatuak SBT) and Oneida Zubia (Gipuzkoa Football Federation). Each one shared her experience and explained her current role. Thanks to their stories, the audience gained a clearer view of daily life in sport.
Voices from the new generation
A second panel followed. This time, the speakers were players Nahia Aparicio (Real Sociedad) and Malen Uranga (SD Eibar), together with referee Lidia Barragán. They spoke about the growth of women’s football. Moreover, they described the changes they see today in Gipuzkoa.
Support from local institutions
Roberto Ramajo, Sports Director of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, attended the event. He highlighted the strong performance of women athletes in the region. He also noted that women’s football helps increase the presence of women in sports management.
Tximist Foundation’s commitment
The Tximist Foundation continues to work for equality in sport. Because of this, the foundation collaborates with the Gipuzkoa Women’s Network on several initiatives. The goal is clear: to offer girls and women the same opportunities to grow.
A shared path towards equality
The event ended with a joint call for collaboration. Clubs, institutions and community groups must keep working together. Only then can Gipuzkoa build a fairer and more equal sports environment.
