The seventh edition of the Tximist Cup was officially presented in Hondarribia. This top level competition honors the memory of Juan Carlos Samaniego, former physical trainer of Real Sociedad and fondly remembered as “Tximist.”
The tournament will take place from June 16 to 24, 2023, bringing together top level women’s football clubs from Europe and beyond.
Over the years, the Tximist Cup has grown into an international benchmark for women’s youth football. The 2023 edition will feature Real Sociedad’s youth teams and other top level clubs such as:
Paris Saint-Germain (France)
Real Madrid (Spain)
Malmö FF (Sweden)
Atlético de Madrid (Spain)
Kiryat Gat (Israel)
This year promises to be one of the most competitive editions yet. In addition, teams from the main European leagues and beyond will raise the standard of the competition even higher.
The official presentation took place in the Plaza de Armas of Hondarribia. The event gathered several important representatives:

During the event, Juan Luis Silanes underlined the City Council’s strong support, noting that the Tximist Cup has become a true reference in women’s football.
Teams from more than 12 countries will compete across five categories. Moreover, the Legends category will make history in Basque women’s football. Aintzane Encinas emphasized the big growth of the tournament. “As a result, more than 6,000 players have already taken part in this top level event.”
On June 24, 2023, the Legends category will mark a milestone in Basque women’s football. For the first time, four historic clubs will face each other:

Añorga KKE
The Tximist Cup 2023 is more than just a football competition. It is a celebration of women’s football, equality, and empowerment through sport. Finally, Hondarribia is ready to host an unforgettable edition of this top level international tournament.
