Angola Delegation Visits Gipuzkoa to Promote Equality

A delegation from Angola visited Gipuzkoa as part of an initiative led by the Tximist Foundation, in collaboration with LALIGA International.
The main objective was to promote equal opportunities, inclusion, and international cooperation through the power of football.

Official Receptions

During their visit, the Angolan representatives were officially received at the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa by:

• Irune Berasaluze Lazkano, Provincial Deputy for Governance

• Nerea Isasi Bedayo, Director General for Equality of Women and Men

• Ana Priede Merchán, Director General for International Cooperation

They were also welcomed by San Sebastián’s mayor, Eneko Goia, in a touching event held in front of the Alderdi Eder building.
There, the importance of sport as a tool for social transformation was highlighted.

The Equality Ball: A Symbol of Change

During each institutional visit, the Angolan delegation symbolically presented the Equality Ball, a signed football representing equal opportunity.
This same ball was used during the Tximist Cup, and it has since become a symbol of the movement.

The visiting representatives were named Equality Ball Ambassadors, with a mission to share its message worldwide:

“Wherever it rolls, it will show that opportunities are shining.”

Active Participation in Key Events

The delegation also took part in several high-profile events.

Irene Gonçalves, a leading figure in African football and Vice President of the Angolan Football Federation, and
Edmundo Endje, international delegate of LALIGA,
spoke at the She Leads Congress, which focused on women’s leadership in sports.

Meanwhile, footballers Sandrinha and Catiana joined training sessions with Real Sociedad and competed in the Tximist Cup, proudly representing Angola with skill and passion.

An Alliance with Global Impact

Thanks to the partnership between the Tximist Foundation and LALIGA International, this experience helped strengthen the bond between Angola and Gipuzkoa.
It also showcased the transformative power of football and highlighted the importance of cooperation as a driver for social change.
