Several key figures attended the event:
Martín Ibabe, Sports Councillor of San Sebastián City Council;
Garbiñe Etxeberria, Sporting Director of Real Sociedad;
Iker Goiria, Director of Tourism for the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa;
and Aintzane Encinas, Director of the Tximist Cup.
During her speech, Aintzane Encinas emphasized that the Tximist Cup has become “a reference tournament in football”. She also pointed out that it “helps promote and give visibility to the sport, its athletes, and its leaders.”
For her part, Garbiñe Etxeberria highlighted the commitment of Real Sociedad to women’s football. “Our club is fully committed to its development, and the Tximist Cup is a great opportunity to showcase our work,” she said.
Iker Goiria also stressed the tournament’s impact on tourism. “The Tximist Cup is a great opportunity to promote San Sebastián, Hondarribia, and the entire province of Gipuzkoa,” he noted. He added, “Women’s football is growing fast, and this tournament will attract visitors from around the world.”
The sixth edition of the Tximist Cup is expected to surpass previous years. With the participation of over 1,500 playersand the presence of top-level professional teams, everything points to a resounding success.
Media coverage is also expected to be extensive, increasing the tournament’s reach and visibility.
