The president of the Tximist Foundation, Aintzane Encinas, participated in the International Women’s Football Congress held at the Ficoba fairgrounds, where she shared a table with leading figures in the field of sports. Under the title “Coaches, technical teams and referees”, the round table was moderated by sports journalist Puri Naya and also included Patricia Campos, former professional football coach; Olatz Rivera, international referee; and Encinas herself.
During her speech, Encinas underscored the importance of continuing to promote the presence of women on the bench, in coaching and refereeing, areas where women still face significant barriers. The president stressed the need to support training and the creation of role models, something that the Tximist Foundation is actively working on through projects such as the She Leads program, which seeks to train and raise the profile of women in leadership roles in soccer.
The round table generated an enriching debate on the differences in management and learning between male and female players, a topic also addressed by Patricia Campos, who pointed out that female players show a greater predisposition to learn and accept feedback, which constitutes a competitive advantage in their sporting development.
Encinas concluded her speech by reaffirming the Tximist Foundation’s commitment to gender equality in football:
“This congress shows that together we can change the rules of the game. Our mission is to give tools to the new generations so that they can reach their full potential on and off the pitch.”
The event, which brought together key figures in women’s football, served as a space to share experiences, ideas and strategies that promote a more inclusive and diverse future in the sport.
