On Saturday, September 27, 2025, starting at 10:00 a.m., the VII Tournament of the National Museum of Anthropology (MNA) and Dragones de Lavapiés will take place in Madrid. This unique event combines sport, culture, and social inclusion, bringing together over 200 participants.
This year, all matches will be played with The Equality Ball, donated by Tximist Foundation. This ball has become a global symbol of equal opportunities, endorsed by football icons like Irene Paredes and Khalida Popal.
The founder and president of Fundación Tximist, Aintzane Encinas, will attend the tournament and share a message about the importance of equality in sport and in society.
The event will feature grassroots teams, women’s squads, veterans, and refugee teams from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). International guests include Grenoble Soccer de Rue (France) and representatives of the Homeless World Cup.
There will also be matches with amputee teams, led by Eduardo Meléndez, and players from Real Sociedad. Beyond football, the program includes basketball, chess, and the #RunChallenge, part of the European Week of Sport (#BeActive).
Live Arabic music, Moroccan cultural workshops, and a screening of the #Regatta4Med by Tibu Africa will complete the program.
The trophies are 3D-printed replicas of byeri statues from the Fang people, chosen in children’s workshops at the MNA. The event will also welcome professional player Álex Sánchez López and the support of organizations like World Football Summit and Integrated Dreams.
The VII Tournament of the MNA is much more than sport: it is a celebration of intercultural dialogue, human rights, and the transformative power of football.
