Tximist Foundation launches #SkipTheBarriers to break down prejudice in football
Tximist Foundation, in collaboration with Liga F and World Football Summit (WFS), has launched #SkipTheBarriers, a campaign designed to challenge stereotypes and prejudices that girls and women still face for playing football.
Turning prejudice into inspiration
“Football isn’t real football.”
“Football isn’t for ladies.”
“Girls don’t have the strength to reach the goal from the corner.”
These comments still act as real barriers, discouraging many young girls from pursuing the sport they love.
A challenge for equality on and off the pitch
Through #SkipTheBarriers, Tximist Foundation invites the entire football community —players, coaches, referees, journalists, and fans— to overcome training barriers built from real discriminatory comments.
These barriers symbolize everyday obstacles and aim to turn criticism into positive action.
Launch event at WFS Madrid 2025
The campaign will be presented on Wednesday, October 15 at 12:30 p.m. at La Nave (Madrid) during World Football Summit Madrid.
Aintzane Encinas, founder of Tximist Foundation, and Beatriz Álvarez Mesa, president of Liga F, will lead a talk on discrimination and its impact on women’s participation in football.
After the discussion, attendees will be invited to take part in the #SkipTheBarriers challenge and score a goal against discrimination.
For a fairer and more inclusive game
The campaign encourages clubs, organizations, and fans to join the movement and break down barriers that still exist in football.
When a girl stops playing because of prejudice, football and society lose together.
