8th edition of the Tximist Cup: An event that promotes equality and empowerment in women’s sport

The official presentation of the 8th edition of the Tximist Cup, a tournament that has established itself as a benchmark in women’s football at international level, was held today. During the presentation, various personalities highlighted the importance and impact of this event in the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women through sport.

Aintzane Encinas: visibility, dreams, and recognition

Aintzane Encinas, president of the Tximist Foundation and one of the most recognized voices in women’s football, underlined the value of the tournament. She stated:

“The Tximist Cup generates visibility and references, dreams for the new generations, and recognition for the pioneers and legends, who also have a place in the tournament.”

 

Nerea Isasi: a pioneering role in equality

At the presentation, Nerea Isasi reaffirmed the pioneering role of the Tximist Cup in promoting women’s sport. She stressed:

“High-level events like this are essential to continue gaining spaces for equality and social transformation through sport. The Tximist Cup is the best example of this, promoting values and empowerment.”

 

Iñaki Gabarain: women’s sport in San Sebastian

The Councillor for Sports and Healthy Living in San Sebastian, Iñaki Gabarain, underlined the importance of women’s sport in the city and the role of the She Leads congress:

“A meeting such as the She Leads congress once again underlines the importance of women’s sport in a city where women’s teams are among the flagships of our success. They place us at the top of Spanish women’s sport.”

From the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, Marta Pastor emphasized institutional support for the tournament, pointing out its international reach:

“The Tximist Cup has allowed more than 10,000 players from over 20 countries to compete at international level. It promotes equal opportunities and the empowerment of girls and women through football.”

She also highlighted the atmosphere of respect and inclusion created by the event:

“The Tximist Cup is not just another tournament. It fosters camaraderie among women from different cultures, while generating economic impact and making female talent visible. It challenges stereotypes and inspires girls to pursue their dreams.”
